It’s time to discuss everyone’s most asked questions! Join us as we let our curiosity run free. We will be drawing questions we’ve always wondered about out of a hat and discussing the answers as a group. All are welcome to write a question and add it to the hat (anonymity is ensured, of course)! Anyone who feels like answering may do so, and we hope to spark some enlightening conversations. As always feel free to just watch and listen as discussion ensues.

Join in as one of our lovely members leads us in fun theater games followed by a creative session for making or rehearsing stories, poems, and other performances especially in leading up to TDOR. As always, there’s no need to participate–you can come just to sit and watch! The night will end with a moment to socialize and a drum circle.

An article from The Conversation states that transgender Americans are more likely than their cisgender counterparts to be unemployed and poor based on a survey of over 400,000 people in the US about employment, income, health insurance coverage, and overall health. The first half of the evening will consist of a presentation and discussion on the psychology of money, basic rules to follow for improving one’s individual economic situation, financial planning, and investing for the future. Story telling time–just sit and listen or tell a story! We will be discussing how to tell a story and putting what we learn to practice, whether it be comedy, drama, dramedy, horror or sci-fi. You do not need to participate unless you would like to–you can just sit and listen. We will learn how to tell a story that’ll captivate your listeners. We will finish up with social time and a TransJams drum circle: we have some new hand drums to share!

A lovely TranQuility member will present this fun and interesting topic with a short presentation. The ice breaker will include sharing pictures and videos of our pets or significant animals. Afterwards, there will be a Q & A session followed by discussion about support animals and our pets. The second half will be social time. Participation in the discussion is always optional. You can just hang and listen. Optional to bring: a picture or video of your pet, support animal, or a cool animal you like.

This month, we’re having game night in place of TransWord/TransJams. We are going to just kick back and relax this time around, and people will be bringing their favorite games to play. There will be many options, including Pictionary, Balderdash, Jenga, and various board games and card games including Cards Against Humanity and Exploding Kittens. As always there is no pressure to participate: you can hang in the blue room if you just want to chat and chill. Optional items to bring: your favorite games, your dinner, a snack, or something yummy to share.

If there is time and an interest, we just bought some new hand drums, so we can end game night with a short drumming circle!

All LGBT+ friends, family and allies welcome. Join us for a potluck and celebration of trans trailblazers. For the potluck, please bring something that you can share! If you are unable to bring something or can’t afford to make a donation, please still come–we want everyone to be there, and we will have extra food for you. Several people are bringing helpful and affirming items that they are donating to anyone who would like them. Come and peruse! If you also happen to have some items that you would like to donate that evening, your contribution would be appreciated.

We welcome all to join us for TransWord and TransJams. During the first half, we will be doing “blackout” poetry, in which we will transform pieces of literature by strategically blacking out the sentences and leaving only the words for a poem visible. You are welcome to bring your own page with you to use, whether it’s from a favorite book or something negative you wish to transform into something empowering. As always, you do not need to participate or even speak if you don’t want to–you can just watch. The second half will be TransJams and is sure to be fun! Once more, feel free to just be an audience member and watch and listen.
