TransWord/TransJams, 06/08 @ 6:30 – 8 pm

We welcome all to join us for TransWord and TransJams. During the first half, we will be doing “blackout” poetry, in which we will transform pieces of literature by strategically blacking out the sentences and leaving only the words for a poem visible. You are welcome to bring your own page with you to use, whether it’s from a favorite book or something negative you wish to transform into something empowering. As always, you do not need to participate or even speak if you don’t want to–you can just watch. The second half will be TransJams and is sure to be fun! Once more, feel free to just be an audience member and watch and listen.

TransWord/TransJams – “The Beat Generation” 4/13, 7:30-9pm

Get ready for some fun times as we recreate “The Beat Generation” – We will be creating some beat poetry or stories and letting the audience snap, clap, shake an egg, hit a cowbell, or beat a drum at the end of each poignant line. Come to create individually, or work in a small team or just sit and enjoy, no pressure to participate or even speak- we need an audience too. If there’s time we will end with a drum circle.
